Try to stay away from medication whenever possible especially stuff like antihistamines, antidepressants (yes there are some retards that try to prescribe shit like this seeing as drowsiness is a side effect) and things like Zolpidem and Zopiclon if possible as these don't really give you a quality sleep whereas Nitrazepam is a bit better and for me Triazolam was the holy grail (Midazolam as well if it exists in your country for that purpose) but heed my warning and do not touch ANY of this stuff if you can avoid it 'cause you do not want to go through serious Triazolam withdrawal seeing as Alprazolam (Xanax) is child's play in comparison but if there are no other options then that gave me real quality sleep, got to sleep every night and felt refreshed and sober when I woke up but the best is daily routines and excercise (for me bodybuilding and running helped but we are talking daily at the gym and at home which isn't for everyone and didn't even cut it for me at times with that regimen) you could try Melatonin as well it should be available at your local doctor in most countries and can be bought legally in many countries online it's what your body produces when you drink milk, are in a dark room and so on it helps some people and doesn't really have any side effects other than perhaps some drowsiness at the morning in the beginning.
Try at least going for walks or runs at morning and night at least as well as let's start with 10 push ups (or however many you can manage then up it to ten when you can and up it in small increments as time goes) at morning and at night before you go to bed, stay away from caffeine after 18:00, try not to eat too late and don't sleep late wake up early and stay awake till night.
