All parties are by definition pro-themselves. They will throw science (and anything really) under the bus if it goes against their narrative. No logical actor would willingly shoot themselves on the foot, especially for something as pointless as "following science". Following science is useless because

a) You don't get paid to do it (unless you are a scientist or practitioner). So why bother?
b) Science has its own internal political issues. So if you don't like the science just fund the one guy who agrees with you and let him publish like crazy. Science is science, right? It's not like the basedboys who just read headlines will notice, right?

just objectively, the party that's been supportive of the EPA and the CDC, common sense policy on climate change, listening to actual professionals and not supporting conspiracy theories, the party that has been more supportive of separating church and state, the party that supports increased funding for education, the party that supports researching gun violence, the pro-vaccine side, the pro clean energy side (read: a new tech industry).

There is no such thing as a "pro-science" party.
They both will base themselves on "science", if their goals align with what "science" says, and otherwise ignore it.
And then there also is that false assumption that "science" always has a single, "true" position on any topic. It has not.
There are a lot of extremely controversial topics in science, with people arguing in all directions using scientific tools.

You're confusing left-wing positions with Democratic party-based positions. The only anti-science left-wing stance I can think of is on nuclear energy, but that's only leftist because the Democratic party pushed it so hard. Both parties make policies based on what most benefits the billionaires who give the largest donations. Nuclear energy is only really profitable for the working class, so....

Maybe "profitable" was the wrong word, but my point was that there aren't any super-rich CEOs investing in nuclear, mostly because so many are connected to Big Oil. Everyone would benefit from nuclear power, but billionaires wouldn't benefit *enough* to bother fighting for it.
