How do I use math to get good at gambling?
Assume that I am allowed to count cards or that it is impossible for me to get caught counting cards.

Play poker. It's not rigged in favour of the house. Rather, you pay the house a small fee to play other people. Poker is entirely a matter of calculating expected value.
What complicates it, is that the calculations are complex and you need to make them quickly, so you need to develop some heuristics. Also; an important part of the calculation requires putting a numerical estimate on how likely people are to do x given y; which requires reading people.

They actually don't take super long to memorize, if only poker actually distributed the winning hand money based on proportion of winning as opposed to who has the winning hand I think it would be a bit more fair

counting cards involves probability. you never know exactly what card is going to come up but you know when there's a deficit/higher number of face cards in the deck

Being good at poker has very little with mathematical ability or doing complex calculations in the middle of playing. it's mostly just intuition about what your basic odds are in various situations which comes from experience.

Just a suggestion. Is play card game spades. It helps count cards intuitively. You don't want a perfect card counting system. Because it is noticable. You want your brain to pick up the patterns on their own.

In psychology they say the brain is able to recognize patterns. So it's no different then a pattern recognition machine.

An intuitive mind set allows you to account for possible out comes. And also allows you to just plain have fun. Start gambling games with a limit in mind.

If your limit is 100 for the day. Have fun playing penny slots. Or too gamble against others.

There are so many permutations in a deck of cards. The only thing you have to worry about is if a dealer is a card shark and he has a friend he is trying to let win. If you notice someone winning to often in a private game. Or a game at a casino. Just kind of bail.

There was a story of a guy who lived in Vegas. And went into 20 casinos weekly only spend 5 dollars on slots. And he won every so often. Idk if he won million dollar jack pots. But what is wrong with often low gambles. And high rewards.
