We had an exchange student do some work in our lab (I'm a 6th year grad student) and he was dumb as shit. He would do his cell work at odd hours so never really saw him in their.
One day we both go into the tissue culture room together and I turn off the hood UV, and he says "whats that for?" and I told him its the UV to keep the hood sterile when not in use and he goes "ooooh. That's probably why my hands have been getting all red and itchy."
This dumbfuck was doing cell work with the UV lamp on in the hood for like 2 weeks straight. And that was just the tip of his stupidity. I have no idea how he survived this long in life let alone got into grad school.
