>>12105252I agree. The entire premise of an IQ test is that "intelligence is measured by the speed and accuracy of finding patterns in data", which I disagree with. There are so many more important factors in thinking.
For one, working memory. Everything has context, and to advance the field of science you need to have all of the previous discoveries and other principles in mind while working. In fact, I think there are many intelligent people with moderate IQ's since they are more practical and have been trained to consider things in context, and thus do less well than people who have been thinking in an "IQ test mindset" their entire life.
There are other factors as well, but as I typed them out I realized many of those could be a indicator of working memory or one another, and others are less of an intelligence indicator and more of a "good work habit" indicator. I'm sure though that there's more, but it is really a complex question as to what.
