Not too bad in my state. We have cadaver lab and clinic skills lab and OMM (lol). You only get to be there for 1/3 of your dissection time slot though due to social distancing. So one week I'll get to actually do the initial cuts and expose the anatomy, but the next week I'll just be cleaning fascia. Lectures on zoom is fine by me, it lets me pause and learn the material better I feel when it is recorded. That sucks you don't even get labs though, I didn't think GA was that bad.

we do meet in person for clinical labs, but that is one of few things we meet in person for. we meet in person once a week at best. my school always recorded lectures, even before zoom. at least before covid we had the option to actually attend them. campus is a ghost town. people that dont live on campus have no reason to come to campus because zoom classes. i've barely met any of my classmates, and most of the ones i did meet were in passing. zoom classes, socialization, etc. might do it for some people, but it doesnt do it for me. i need human interaction

and just in case there was a misinterpretation, i dont live in georgia. I meant gross anatomy when i said 'GA". but on that note, its funny because hardly anyone in my state takes mask wearing or social distancing seriously. my states undergrad classes are allowed to meet in person. but our med schools (or at least mine), nah we cant we cant meet in person for hardly anything

Keep chugging along anon, hopefully it'll be back to normal soon. Maybe try asking one of your small groups if they want to get some food or something? That's what we ended up doing and it was a pretty good time. Idk what your rules about that stuff are though. I think my dean says I'm technically not gather with classmates.

Yeah that makes zero sense. Probably has something to do with the medical faculty of your school wanting to make sure it looks like they're taking everything extra seriously to not lose credibility. It's pretty ridiculous though, we're cutting corners in medical training because of something medically related.

as far as i know, we are expected to maintain the same rules off campus (wearing masks, social distancing, etc.) ive tried to mingle here and there with some people. its hard to ask people to do anything when you've never really met them and when theres a magnifying glass over our heads to makes sure we arent "breaking the rules" so to speak. most of my classmates give off the vibes of being shut ins, whether its in their dorms or their homes. trying to get them out of their bubble is like pulling teeth.

i couldn't agree with you more. it doesn't make much sense to me either. the reason you gave is more than likely at least part of why they are being such reactionaries. you would think with the current issue, we'd be the only ones allowed to have in person class? idk.
