what are some fun biochemistry experiments that i can do at home? I'm willing to buy expensive equipment

I'm a chemistry major and I do home organic chemistry as a hobby. I've only done fisher esterifications and conversions of alcohols to alkyl bromides so far. I've been planning a grignard but I'm too busy recently.

I'm taking biochemistry II and I find biochemistry very cool but I don't know how I could start getting into practical biochemistry. my degree plan doesn't require biochemistry lab.

could I do some kind of protein extraction or grow amoeba?
