Is accounting or nursing a better career? I’m using army money to return to school for free so debt isn’t a factor.

I worked as an orderly in a hospital in college, I would never willingly be a nurse.
At least crunching numbers means you ride a comfy desk and do bullshit busy work you can power through in a few hours and then fuck around on your phone until its late enough in the day you can leave without getting hassled.

Accountant here. Don’t fall for the work-life balance meme. You can go far in this field but that’s heavily dependent upon how much of your life you are willing to sacrifice. Many of those who succeed in this field do so at the expense of friends and family. That being said, make partner at any Big Four firm and you will clear 700k a year after a few years of good business. Partners at smaller firms still make good money too. Industry accountants at the controller level make good money as well but nowhere near as close.

I'm in nursing school and i am very happy with my choice. Once I graduate I will be going to grad school to become a nurse practitioner which is a much more chill job compared to being a beside nurse as you mostly just see patients and prescribe meds. If you're a guy its easy mode. Highly recommend.
