Newton was interest in the Occult. Tesla too. It's a legitimate topic to get worked over. Does someone like Morrison have any actual points? Or is it just retards taking halucinogenics and that's it?

I think everything can be boiled down to something like "retards taking hallucinogens". But ultimately, no one knows absolute metaphysical or spiritual truth. Science has a role and an important one. But a spiritual or magickal one has one too. Its use is just way, way, way more limited if there is any.

I went into science because I wanted to be a wizard (before that I was into religion but after actually reading them I lost faith that any of the current writings are correct).
To at least some degree I think a lot of other scientists are the same way (maybe it's especially true for my fellow chemists).
I've explored the occult and magics and failed to find anything tangible.
If anyone could find proof of any aspect of the occult they would be a shoe-in for a nobel prize.

Hell, I even spent some time doing research with complementary medicine (my uni had a TCM school and hosted the national institute of complementary medicine) to see how much of that is real and how much is bogus (most bogus some real but nothing metaphysical).

If you’re a true believer in that sort of stuff, using “magic” to improve your chances of success in an endeavor will likely give you more confidence, thus actually improving your odds. Beyond that, it’s probably BS, but who knows?

Me too, anon. I'm not interested in the occult besides, "heh, that's cute I guess." I love the idea of accumulating knowledge, finding solutions to difficult problems, learning how to apply theory to application, etc. It all feels very arcane and wizardry to me. I just wish someone would pay to to do calculus problems all day so I could major in math. :(
