How would people of different intelligence approach a problem like this?
In the ranges of:
75-95
95-115
115-130
130-145
145+

So what I'm asking is, what do you think the thought process is of people within these iq ranges for solving this problem? Don't post your IQ, just post what you think is going on in the mind of people within these different IQ ranges. I'm curious to see what range of IQ people think others need to be to solve this problem. I'd call it an easy-moderate problem maybe?

They do the same as 130-145 but can't be bothered to find a good pattern for the dots

being well practised at matrix puzzles, these geniuses will immediately recognise that the the patterns for lines and dots are independent, for each row, the lines of the outer most boxes are added to obtain the the lines for the middle box with the rule that two black lines in the same place cancel out (equivalently you add the boxes in the first 2 columns). This would immediately point to part (F). But the geniuses must now fit in a pattern for the dots so that they can pretend it really was (F) that explained the whole pattern all along. They look back and realise that the dots can be better explained if the pattern for the lines was row-wise rather than column-wise (i.e. add the rows 1 and 2 to get row 3). Then if you look at the dots, they also add row-wise (add rows 1 and 2) with the rule that you keep the dot only if is in that same part of the circle in rows 1 and 2. This fits with everything else and maintains (F) as the best answer.

They have to think somewhat similarly to solve the problems. Other than that, not really the point that people think differently despite having similar iq. Again, curious about the perception of people here how others with varying levels of intelligence think to solve a problem.

Example:
75-95 - can't think at all about the problem in their head, might stare at it for 20-30 minutes and have an aha moment or just guess
95-115 - 2-3 minutes of staring at it and trying different things (does this match this?? Oh this matches this, okay.... let's try this)
115-130 - Sees whole picture right away, takes pieces in head and lines them up quickly and notices the pattern within under a minute
145+ - Intuitively knows the answer just by looking at it, can see individual parts separated without any sort of cognitive interference

Hard test. But i heard this one is a bit deflated (The webarchive version) so your raw spatial intelligence (Taking processing speed from the equation) is likely higher than the score in the test suggest.

IQ is just a matter of comparing possible transformations of patterns to see matching ones.

The faster you can find the correct tranformation, the """higher IQ""" you have. But, since transformations can be taught and practiced, tests like in OP are sort of bad. Any idiot can learn what OR and XOR and rotate45deg is, and visualize what it would look like.

I am sleep deprived. I can read good and use computers with above average skill. I find it easier to absorb abstract information sets that map out systems and highly specialised knowledge than to map most objects, people or interactions with too many layers of visceral unknown. I feel like a 2% above average intelligence. I feel like you would need like 115 IQ by mensa like measure to solve this

I took an IQ test at 15 and got 140 something (wisc?). Not sure about my current level, but I know childhood IQ tests are notoriously unreliable.

Nah man, you are a genius. When it comes to intermediate problems like this, low IQ people will not be able to solve them (in time, at least), midwits will take about a minute or two and then come up with some correct answer that makes it look complex and like a clusterfuck.
High IQ people, on the other hand, will spot a simple pattern in mere seconds that is valid.

different tests do it differently, but most you can study for and just go with that, which is why some iq societies go by educational scores as well.
every so often a new style pops up, giving a chance to test actual inteligence, but at the same time, because it's new, it won't be well calibrated.

Most are top-to-down, left-to-right and diagnol. A good chunk is simply top-to-down and left-to-right (like the one OP posted), while a small minority is any other combination of the three (like only top-to-down).

is there any significance of the left most black and white squares not aligning horizontally to make a top and a bottom row with other squares? or is it just a distraction? otherwise i could at least start thinking in this direction: 4 outer squares are combined to make up the central inner square. if there is a pattern for the first five, i would then try to apply it to the second group of five.
