machine colonisation of the galaxy

Space is very hostile to biological life, so why not just have our machines colonise the galaxy instead? Maybe they would invite us to some nicer planets after they figured out how to make them habitable for us. I suppose we could be sent as frozen sperm and eggs, and then gestated on the surface of the planet after the Ark Ship arrives, and raised by robots. Hopefully, the colonists wouldn't turn out like Zoomers, who were raised by iPhones. I don't see the point in human astronauts if machines can meet or exceed human intelligence by 2030 to 2100.
