Does arm length (wing span) and height of a person actually correlate? And if so how well?

Depends on race. I read an article a few years ago that found only one player in the NBA had a wingspan less than his height. Many of the players have wingspans that exceed their height by 4-8 inches, with a few freaks reaching 12 inches. My height and wingspan are exactly the same.
