How do people study/do homework for 12+ hours with minor breaks in the middle for food/piss?

Only time i studied im 12 hour blocks was when i was cramming a single 12 week unit into 5 days. It was hell but i got a 78% on the exam

No one does it. At least effectively. What people usually do is 4x2h of studying with 30 minute breaks in the middle. At first they'll be 15 minute breaks but as the day goes on the gap increases.
