Oil is an expensive as fuck business to get into, especially if you have no idea what you're doing. Your best bet is to find a lawyer who'll negotiate you a great contract with one of the large oil companies and sell the property.

Depends on who has the mineral rights for the plot. Usually the land owner does. In which case. You lease the rights to an oil company and move to a nicer house.

Don’t know how it is in Argentina, but generally speaking, you’d sell the mineral rights to an interested oil extraction company, and they’d send you a check every month as compensation. My great grandparents found some oil on their property back in the early 1900s, and the family still gets a (tiny) amount of cash every month as a result.

what type of oil? heavy, light, sweat, sour, how deep? Do you need to frack? Do you own mineral rights? Go online and look at oil well casing diagrams and well histories. Do you know how much it costs to drill and complete a well? Then you need to process the produced fluid. In the shale plays they are flaring a shit ton of gas because they cannot pipe it. I thought about setting up shipping containers with generators and crytpo miniing rigs and use the waste gas as an free energy source. But a lot of these wells are in the middle of nowhere, and someone beat me to it.

I read a story about a family who owned 100,000 acres for scrub out in Texas and Shell paid them $1 billion for the right to explore and produce OG from their land. That was not even the royalties. The USGS published maps on these potential plays many years ago. The production companies just did not yet have the technology (fracing) to the get oil and gas out.
