it has no atmosphere, so as long as you minimise the contact with the surface (which all space ships do anyways with stilts) and your spaceship is painted white you will have no issues regulating temperature. just cover the area of any lavatube with white paint or powder and shallow subsurface temps are 0-50.

Mercury is probably almost impossible. You will get blasted with radiation even worst then mars so you’d need to go underground really deep. I’m not sure what you’d do there that can be done on easier planets to colonize.

Wrong, although the solar radiation flux is 16 times higher at mercuries orbit than at mar, mercury DOES have a magnetic field which shields it orders of magnitude better than Mary’s total lack of a field whatsoever. Also it’s closer in the suns magnetic field so it’s also even more protected against deeply penetrating cosmic radiation. Nearly no solar radiation reaches the surface of mercury except in specific parts of the poles

That's brought up very commonly in science fiction. It's a major point in Heinlein's The Moon Is A Harsh Mistress, the recent TV series The Expanse, and everything in between.
Anyway you could just live in a massive turbine. An engineering challenge for sure, but not theoretically impossible. Doesn't have to encompass the whole colony, either. Just the sleeping chambers and some special facilities should go a long way towards keeping healthy.

fusion using helium 3 does not currently work. It's probably more economical to obtain helium-3 from gas giants than mercury. Mecury colonization's still cool though because we've detected carbon there, there's water at the poles, and there's FUCKLOADS of solar power available

Fahrenheit, sure. Celsius? Doubtful. You might be able to formulate a paint that can withstand those temperatures but that's not regular paint and it's not going to be long lasting. Things that aren't paint might be able to coat the surface but you're not going down to the hardware, buying a can of paint, and using it on Mercury as a longterm reflectant.

paint for 750 celcius temps exist, sub 200 celcius paint can last decades. and as i said, it doesnt even have to be paint, just sprinkle zinc oxide and you will encounter no problems, paint is limited only by the binder ie oil, water,acrylic ect and not by the pigment, at least not for simple metal oxide pigments

At this point it is just an engineering problem, all the science is done.
We will have fusing power long before we have a Mercury colony.

lol no, thats like saying warp-drives are done all the maths is done now its just a engineering problem, also fusion power cannot compete with solar on mercury, solar is already cheap and increasing their power output 9x just beats anything a 1 gigawatt solar farm on mercury would be the equivalent as 111 mW on earth. which would cost around 130 million, sorry bucko but even in your wildest dreams a nuclear fusion plant wont cost 1300 million dollars per gigawatt let alone 130

Don't call something a regular paint if you're not using a regular paint. Also regular paint that lasts decades doesn't do so at 200 Celsius. Being able to do so for brief moments is very different than going through the temperature extremes of Mercury cycle after cycle. Stop back peddling. Stop moving the goal posts. Stop pretending regular paint is exposed to 200 degree temperatures for anywhere near the extent it would be on Mercury. If you want to use zinc oxide powder, that's fine but that's not "regular paint". This isn't the IFLS! clubhouse. Words matter. Use them correctly.
