The push against scientific racism was the result of Boasian anthropology which was a highly political and ideological movement largely concerned with the prevention of antisemitism. One of the most influential books that resulted from this movement was Coming of Age in Samoa by Margaret Mead which later turned out to be a complete fabrication and one of the greatest examples of intellectual and academic dishonesty ever recorded.
