Your synapses are overstimulated, wires are crossed and your senses start to portray things that are not real.

I work in a group home with a guy with severe schizophrenia, it got so bad all he could here was screaming in his head. Poor guy has to take hardcore antipsychotics to supress it, lithium i think.

It's true. Your neurons go through a pruning stage in development where irrelevant connections that don't belong together are removed. If you disrupt that process, you can induce hallucinations, presumably from sensory parts of the brain being stimulated at inappropriate times.

It's when there are too little synapses, when you start to outright hallucinate as the rest of the brain tries to compensate for the lack of data coming from the sensory areas.
Neurotypicals also halluci ate a lot, just in ways thatare socially acceptable, like thinking they can seewhen people are lying to them or sense that somebody is staring at them.

Lithium isn't an antipsychotic. In some cases It can be supplied alongside an antipsychotic.

there is mental illness caused by harship and stress, and there is mental disorders caused by brain defects, or damage to the organ itself.
Mental disorders are issues in biology, not psychology. ( e.g: severe autism, brain injury, schizophrenia, etc)

depression is a mental illness, however as with any illnesses it can be dealt with and cured with or without medication. Mental disorders cannot.

Dopaminergetic blockers just may work because they make you so dumb you don't realize even reality, and it's too hard to hallucinate while you're that dumb.

Not really, more like when people go deaf, they may also hallucinate sounds as they try to compensate. Blind people never develop schizophrenia. But there is a similar condition called cortical blindness which also makes the people see something else than they should.

It's acetylcholine deficiency. (Which might ne triggered by high dopamine. High dopamine would only make you feel like you're on stimulants; it obviously isn't enough to make you hallucinate alone.)
