>>12084830I feel like that's on you though. I went to college right after high school and it was amazing. I was prepared for it, and really grew during it. Had a wonderful time, made friends, found out who I was as a person, etc.
I'm sure you could have benefited from time off, and one thing I wish I could hammer into people's heads is "its not a rat race, you don't have to go straight into undergrad or face falling behind/perishing", but a lot of high schoolers have it drilled into their head as "do or die, you're either ahead of the average or your not worth anything".
I see it in undergrad too; lots of people think they HAVE to go straight to grad school, but I always tell the undergrads to take a year off, because they will NEVER have that opportunity again once they start (never is a strong word here, but is often true).
