Can rats count? I see mix studies on the subject. One says they can’t while I found a couple others that say they can. If so how high can rats count?

They understand the concept of numbers. If you have n doors and you make it so that the food is behind door 1, then 2, then ... n, they clearly understand how to increment because they will always predict the correct door for each trial. But I don't know if that counts as 'counting;.

I want to train rats to be spies. I have a bunch of them in a huge ass cage in my room which is basically a rat heaven. I trained them to do other things like I can tell them to go where I point (the dumber rats can’t really do this) if I can get them to go through holes and look around and count people they’d be useful spies
