In fact, our Sun is even more unique than that: by having an uncommon level of metalicity, the Sun can be smaller than a typical G-type star without having too much solarwind activity because the core builds up at birth rather than halfway through its life as is typically the case. having a solid non-hydrogen core causes destruction of magnetic buildup which prevents the planets from being bombarded.
