UFO possibility

Not shitting up your board with /x/ tier paranoia. I'm wondering if it's possible to "broadcast" plasma or some form of heat. The reason I ask is because the tic tac ufo incident is documented, but it seems to me that if it was some sort of gravity/time distortion as they claim, wouldn't sensors have been able to detect such an anomaly? It seems much more rational to me that they're pointing heat around like a lazer pointer and making it do all kinds of jumps and tricks.
As far as a weapons application, I would think you can point it into the propulsion system of a jet or missile and make it fly off course without manually blowing it up. A blown up fighter jet would always be known to be an attack, vs a crash from an issue with thrusters could be feasibly called a mechanical error.
My theory on the UFO incidents is that they were testing how well they could maneuver the object/weapon. If they could get it to fly on all sides around a fighter jet, they could reasonably assume it's safe to use when our aircraft is in the area.
Anyway I'd like to know if such a thing is possible. It seems much more feasible than a solid metal aircraft flying around defying physics.
