his "simplified" quadratic formula is harder to remember and use than the actual quadratic formula.
students should be using the true quadratic formula with the 4ay term in the square root which works for any y not just y=0

This sums up the viewership pretty nicely.
His videos have clearly a higher production value per minute than any other math channel, but this also means he only gets across 10 minutes of content - and wannabe engineer types tell themselves they get more out of those 10 minutes than in doing exercises for 3 hours - which, I guess, just means they don't care to think about what they are learning while they have to

His videos aren't your typical lectures by bumbling idiots you get at universities. The main appeal of his channel is to give an alternate insite on a topic, or some inspiring intuition that maybe elegant , much easier to get your head around. All that can be easily portrayed in 10 minutes.
