Do politicians even understand basic thermodynamics? I'm serious, it seems like every idea any politician or "political thinker" has ever had for anything just completely ignores any attempt at efficiency, stability, or even just basic sustainability. For anything from energy to taxation to inflation to employment ratios, absolutely no thought is given to whether or not it even produces a net gain in resources. It's insanity to me, and it terrifies me that people are just allowed to modify and change the world without any regard to the basic laws of energy exchange. Systems should have to be sustainable, feasible, make efficient use of resources, and have a long-term projected growth plan to even be considered. And I haven't even gotten started on the compatibility of one program with another, good god. Why do we allow people who think mostly in appeals to emotion to run our world?

And why do so many people follow them?
