>>12070565I had a drug-induced psychosis myself (Cannabis), though I was diagnosed with F23.1 (ICD-10) and F12.5 and not "real" schizophrenia.
I take my medication daily. During the acute phase (4 weeks) I took 6mg risperidone/day, then it was lowered to 2mg/day for 1 year. Then I tapered to 1mg/day over the course of 5months. I will try to get rid of the medication completely in about half an year (then it would be 2 - 2.5 years of medication).
I take omega-3 supplements daily, my family saw positive results after about 4 weeks (more concentration, better "all in all"-look). My therapist suggested b-Vitamins, I take them occassionally and notice improvement in concentration. NAC I decided not to take as I feared negative physical outcomes (proof me wrong).
If you have enough money or live in Finland check out "Open-Dialogue"-Therapy, it has the worlds best recovery rates. In other countries its known as "Windhorse".
I quit illegal drugs completely, though I drink occassionally (I seem to cope quite well, I know others who can not tolerate it at all) and smoke cigarettes (it is kind of a substitute for me).
I have a job and doing a Masters Degree at the moment.
Feel free to ask me anything.
