Open and empty are the same, we are Venn diagrams of experience across space and time. You'd have to be a truly unique lunatic to be closed, but even then your act of experiencing is still an experience and can be considered open and also empty. Closed is still the way we see the world usually and even a false fact is still valid as an experience. However the fact that so many all experience the same closed individualism just further validates that we are open
