Weird question and I'm kinda dumb but I've been thinking about this a lot the past few days.

Does time have a spatial direction in space? Or does it expand inwards from the edge of the universe?

Time doesn't have a direction anywhere. There's no time dimension either. Particles just interact with other particles one by one.

Kind of like there seems to be time in computer games yet things pretty much happen one line of code at a time.

The time axis isn't something that exists in nature. It's something humans use to order events.

Space and time are dependent quantities. Hence the laws of special relativity. I think it is perfectly valid to consider time as a 'spatial' dimension, and is this not what routinely occurs in the picture of a 'Minkowski diagram' ?

No. Time objectively exists as a dimension in the universe/nature. It is not a "tool humans use".

From a relativistic perspective, he isn't completely wrong: space-time is the only meaningful physical object, by which we may add coordinates on which can be arbitrary and not necessarily representable by experimental means.

technically, it does since going back in time would force a spatial movement.
For ex: you go back in time to when your grandfather is, but you are forced to move away from where your grandfather is at the speed of light. thus no grandfather paradox.

Heh, funny I find this thread five minutes after I finish reading the Orthogonal series by Greg Egan.
It's a whole sci-fi trilogy which explores the implications of a universe in which time actually is just a 4th spatial dimension, and basically everything from relativity to electromechanics behaves vastly differently to our own physics.

I will answer in higher depth later but I'm general relativity, there is a metric tensor at each point of space-time with a certain signature-space and time therefore, there is a kind of vague sense of the difference between 'space' and 'time'.

There is a backwards in time but we don't perceive it as such.

Arrow of time is driven by the big bang as the initial start. We can observe the arrow of time by observing entropy. The space is moving towards low energy state. That's the direction.

You can think of it like: the faster you go relative to the speed of light, the more perpendicular you are going to time. it's not possible but if you were to reach the speed of light then you are going totally perpendicular to time and thus not moving through time at all (from your own perspective).

In other words, time isn't a spatial dimension but it is a dimension that you are moving through, unless you were to travel at lightspeed in which case you would only be traveling spatially from your own perspective and not in the direction of time

How do we view the past? Does it exist today? Did it exist before but not it doesn't? Should the whole universe from beginning to end be seen as slices of bread with the slices existing all at same time? Would destruction of the slices, create/violate some sort of a "conservation of time energy" bullshit?

You can't neatly slice up the universe into points in time because simultaneity is observer dependent.
The best you can do is spherical shells radiating out from an observer which go backwards in time.
