Those who violate one's assumptions of the universe are considered disruptors and manifest as "villains" to them. The elements and individuals who inturn fortify the universe are considered reconcilers and manifest as "heroes". But to be a hero, one must first become selfish in order to consider what is a disruptor or reconciler.
Afterwards one then decides the best way to maximize preservation of the reconcilers of said universe. Then minimize preservation of the disruptors. Through various actions both violent and non-violent this is achieve. And because one typically views themself as a reconciler to the assumed universe. They thus place their preservation as paramount not only for themself but for the sake of others.
