In a skype consultation my professor mentioned they'll need a new TA and a PhD student on their chair within the next 2-3 months (just when I finish my master thesis) and that I'd be a prime candidate if I applied. Should I do it?
It's for mech. eng. and I'm not too keen on working in academia personally, but on the other hand they are very understaffed on that chair and a tenure down the line would be a possibility. It would be an easy stress free job.
I'm really torn here, not sure if I want it or not. Any other PhD anons here? Did you regret your choice of going into academia?
