lmao no, its not 450 Celsius, 6 feet under the ground it never gets hotter than 160 Celsius at the equator and at higher longitudes its 20-50 Celsius year round, literally all you need to do for heat management on mercury is reflect the light away

In fact, mercury is the only place in the solar system other than earth where temperature can be regulated passively at surface level just by having your colony 1-2 meters under the soil, it’s the only place you could just make a lava tube airtight and the temperature is 25 Celsius year round without needing todo any heating

Any form of energy source that is dependent on weather is bad and dangerous for colonies. Just go nuclear. You can place that inside the underground base with proper radiation shielding
I still hear nothing over how you intend to keep a communication line going in a planet that is heavily bombarded with the Sun's magnetic force.

There are ways to colonize Mercury but it is bound to be much more difficult than what we have now.

Not to mention the cost-effectiveness. A single 1-km M-type asteroid contains more gold and platinum than what our biggest mines could harvest in a year. 1 single asteroid is enough to crash the market and make super computers cheaper

Why is that an issue? If your suit is reflective and the soil is painted white there will be no issue with temps, radiation isn’t a big issue if you only need to repair every now and then and active magnetic shielding of the area during repair and maintenance is simple
