heck, the entire human race suffers from shared hereditary disorders. most of our mammal relatives don’t get stupid respiratory illnesses and we suffer from them more because we all descend from a few mutants who liked to walk upright instead of knuckle walking. and for sure at that time there were fewer than 1000 individuals in the breeding pool so we can blame our weak upper respiratory and bipedal design in the same small inbred group of based weirdo early homos (and by homo i mean in the context of “homo sapien”)
