>>12053515I think the ammonium nitrate is an ionic thing so it will turn into ammonia and nitrate. Ammonia has a really low boiling point so it will evaporate away, I don't know about the nitrate though, you might get a residue of that.
You need to put it in a situation where the ammonium nitrate salts are no longer soluble. Like adding a counter-ion that salts it out or do some ion exchange witchcraft.
A distillation might work to extract the ammonia.
