It'll be great in the future when an insurance company refuses to cover you because they bought your DNA and decided you're too high risk. Law enforcement would love to have it too.

not him but could this make it easier to frame someone for a crime?

also i know cops like to have some chain of custody and signed dropoffs and all that but i feel like it can ALL be forged and your DNA can be placed there to implicate you on a crime that you never did and just say "hey we bagged it up, had officer A sign and initial here, put it in a sealed bag...etc etc"

i think even if those issues i listed were a concern it would be way better for you to have a DNA test by your doctor in the stages of actual medicine, not some company called 23andme where they tell you some stuff that you cant verify and you say "huh i am 2% cherokee indian!" on fb

Agree on all points. There's just too many ways someone with bad or greedy intentions could misuse someone's DNA, and these companies are leaving all possibilities open. Until there's some restrictions put in place, it's not worth the risk, imo.

Before you submit your DNA sample yo ANY company, it's illegal to ask you for it unless there's some problem with the law and you're involved
So, we're all fucked more or less no matter what when pushed, the difference is that you're accelerating the process and giving ground by your own admission
