>>12051887Thinking on it, you may have a problem with the fact that there are fractions in both your problems. Simply multiply by the common denominator across all terms to get rid of them.
Ex. (1/4)x + (2/5)y = 2
The common denominator of 1/4 and 1/5 is 20, so if we multiply across by 20 we turn the equation into
5x + 4y = 40.
You technically do not have to do this. You can just as simply solve for x or y in terms of the fractions. Just remember your rules for arithmetic of fractions.
