I see this type of stuff all the time among people who do not understand science or philosophy. They seem to believe that social structure or a cultures behavior is something that can be analyzed scientifically when it can not be in principle. You can not bridge the is-ought gap with empiricism.
We can empirically/scientifically test for the fact that shooting heroin into your body makes you feel really good, but that can't be used in any way for a justification that people should use heroin.
Or we could scientifically test for the phenomenon that transitioning helps trans people cope with their dysphoria, but this in no way can be used as justification for society accepting or normalizing trans people.
What must be done to get the stupid vulgar unwashed uneducated masses to understand this?
