So I got out of the hospital a couple of hours ago. I was given a single dose of Ativan a few hours prior to that. What I'm asking is, when would I be ok to start drinking? I know you are never to mix the two but I keep finding mixed reviews of what I'm simply asking

Why? Alcohol destroys your health if you consume it too frequently and worsens depression.

You should wean yourself off of it over a few weeks,or see if you can adapt to at least drinking responsibly instead of in excess.

Look I never wanted Ativan but anxiety. I just want to drink a beer or two now that I'm finally home relaxing. Why's that such a terrible thing?

As a general rule you shouldn't mix alcohol and benzos, especially if you take either in excess. I have a buddy who died from mixing a lot of kpins and liquor. If you're going to drink though I would just have 1 or 2 beers and certainly I would not drive. Just get a pack of smokes and relax on the porch
