From watchin animal documentaries I've learnt these four things:
>1) Sign language has been taught to chimps
>2) Chimps can not learn spoken language because they lack vocal cords
>3) Dolphins are more intelligent than chimps, in fact they are only second to humans in terms of intelligence
>4) Dolphins are thought to have names and use "spoken" (whistled?) language that biologists are trying to decypher
So, has it been done, or would it be possible to create a language based on whistles (Full fleshed languages has been created for tv shows and such, so a language based on sounds that dolphins vocal cords could "speak" and our machines could produce is feasible) and expose a new born dolphine to it so it learns that language?
If the answer is yes, could that baby dolphin be raised mixing the artificial language and real dolphin language so it could translate for us?
