So apparently at NYU they have 'themed' dorms, so you can request to be housed on the same floor as people with similar interests ("i want to be on the theater floor!")

Someone has asked for a black themed floor, and the uni has agreed.

What an alarmist title. They want a black-themed dorm. This is commonplace; in my uni we had an Asian-themed dorm and a African-themed dorm.

I am not black. I have never been to any black countries nor do I speak Yoruba or Igbo or Clicky-click.
At all cultural levels beyond skin colour, I am British, and even at a genetic level my mitochondrial and ChrX DNA are British, meaning I am quantitatively more white than anything else. Why do /pol/ and the left deny this fact and lump me in with people who are less like myself?

If I understand the rules correctly, you would simply need to say you identified as black and that would be enough regardless of your actual hue.

I suspect that relations with your neighbours may be somewhat fraught, however.

That's still not good. In my uni, we integrate everyone at an international scale which gets discussion and collaboration from all admitted walks of life around the world going. As a result, it's one of the most successful and prestigious institutions of all time.

Mostly African and African American students. Beyond that, I imagine it's pretty much your normal dorm. The big difference would be dorm events would center around African and African American culture, issues, etc.
