>>12042446To be fair one you can build a robot that can differentiate friend or foe as well as standard soldiers (not as hard as you might think given the mixed record soldiers have for shooting the right people) you decouple power from people completely. Robots don't mutiny, don't split off to form their own warlord bands, don't get demoralized. Robts don't fear death. Robots break the idea that even a nation like the US could resist a totalitarian takeover. 50 million steel-armored robots capable of walking through small arms fired unscathed and ripping a person's head off could beat the amassed gun nuts of the usa, especially since they would shoot back,and explode back with suicide bomber drones and weird robotic rats with poisoned teeth and demoralization bots that wear human skin and scream and blind people in infrared lasers.
