This leads to an inability to understand how their actions may affect others (or even themselves). They do not consider that what they say/do is wrong because they don't view it from another persons perspective and therefore cannot truly empathise with them. This is no doubt due to the fact that their parents never taught them how to show respect and care for others when they were growing up. This lack of an education has led these people into a situation where they are unable to understand or take responsibility for their own actions, which in turn leads them to resort performing whatever heinous acts on other members of society.
The saddest part of all is that this can be fixed. It's not a permanent condition and it doesn't have to affect their whole life. If they'd only take a few moments out of their days to stop, think about what they are doing, consider the possible consequences (both for themselves or others), then maybe we could start mending the damage done. It's even possible to empathise with trolls. Imagine how much pain they are in if they feel the need to lash out and hurt other people as a result of their own inner turmoil. It's important to help them recognize the true value of empathy and compassion. It will lead them to a happier, healthier life (and I'm sure everyone would benefit from that).
So next time you encounter a troll, stop and ask yourself if they are truly doing it out of spite or whether there is something deeper. Try to empathise with them and help them understand the value of empathy.
