In many years of math I've literally only seen the Mobius strip as a side note or a simple exercise. Nobody in math seems to care about it. Only retarded pop sci kids pretend it's deep or beautiful.

The circle is a double cover of projective space. Just like going around the Mobius strip twice will get you back to the starting point with correct orientation.
