It's very empirical so it must be taken with a grain of salt.

I'd say that first of all is to recognize that the average intelligence offers much more possibility than one realises.

Second get an ardent passion. You must create a positive feedback loop of eagerness from your learnings.

Third, don't think with words. Put some headphones and think in pictures. Put a song you love and try to direct the chill you get just above your neck in the occipital region.

There's a lot to be said for this. Unfortunately it's not always easy finding a passion, or at least a passion that provides both intellectual stimulation and an opportunity to make a living. But most of the great minds of the past had something they were obsessed over.

True. I started getting autistic about DNA when I was 15. So I took the path of academia. This being said I think you can develop an obsession at anytime, it will be more cumbersome at 30's with a wife and kids but possible nonetheless
