What are the risks of taking Ritalin without suffering from ADHD?
I have always struggled when it came to actually sitting down and studying, so when I started my CS undergraduate course I sought professional help.
I have been prescribed methylphenidate by my psychiatrist a few months ago for ADHD. The thing is, I am starting to think that I don't have the illness. Sure, I do lose focus quite easily and frequently when I'm trying to concentrate, but after talking to various people it seems to be the default. What I feel it does help me with is it gives me the kick needed to do any work whatsoever that I so desperately need. Otherwise I won't start studying because I just procrastinate all the time.
The meds speed my heart rate from ~65 to ~100 and elevate my blood pressure from 70/112 to 85/135, which seems significant, though my primary care doctor tole mti wasn't an issue.
I take 10+10+5 mg with about 3h intervals.
