You're proving my point. If we take 1st of january we see in >>12039049 that the SMB was nearly the same till 1st of January but by late august 2019 melting was less severe than 2012 melting. In >>12039107 you then show that for the rest of the year the SMB was similar meaning that the difference in August is roughly a reflection of the difference for the whole year.

SMB is not the whole picture, it ignores glacial calving. They can't be in conflict because they aren't measuring the same thing.
