Is anybody here good with biohacking or can point me to a community that isn't horrible. Biohack.me seems horrible and youtubers don't post enough updates on old projects for me to like them. I asked in the /sqt/ but the above is what I got.

I just want to know if you could somehow genetically modify yourself/a muscle (not the penis lol) to increase in length. For example. I am tongue-tied and the only option is surgery which will give me more flexibility but little to no increase in length at all, however I wish to get into gene modding in order to increase the length of it to a stable, measurable, degree, won't cause cancer and has little to no effect on lifespan.

Any np's or current np students, how important is hospital experience for application purposes, and ability to succeed in the actual programs. Ik every program Is different, and some even accept without any prior working experience but I dont want to be left high and dry when I do eventually apply because I choose to work outside of the hospital setting.

How many others have been offset in life by loans and admission technicalities? I'm behind about 7 years because of them and am approaching 30. There isn't much recourse if you are poor and cannot obtain private loans, and being in default at times prevents reapplication with FAFSA. I would have never had this protracted of a process if a few prereqs would have been overlooked. I've since recovered from my poverty but even then, private loans and so on require a cosigner and that's just for the prereqs alone. Sure there are a few schools where they are not required but I've done the calculations. I could not afford relocation. It seems deliberately structured to screw people over who have either had a rough patch in life or decided to become a physician at a much later point.

I'm already too deep into medicine. I see myself as a doctor, but not the kind of doctor that does research or is very excited to help his patients. I'm more like consult, prescribe, see you later or never again. Weird question guys but it's playing on my mind. How does the human body detect weight? Lets say I pick up a heavy bag of shopping: what sensors are detecting this weight and how do they do it? Do you have a scoliosis, and is your cervical spine overly straight (no curve) or generally bent (an S curve, and arc, etc)? Do you have forward head carriage? (Google it) Have you had any imaging done to rule out Chiari malformation etc? Do you have any autonomic issues (blood pressure, heart rate, digestion, dizziness on standing). Lastly, does this dizziness present as nystagmus, weakness in the knees, visual changes, etc?

It sound slike you have compression or tugging on the brainstem, or maybe a pinched nerve in the cervical region. Often times you can't have low back issues without having general spine issues.

Blood pressure is slightly higher than the average because I'm a tense person, none of the other symptoms there apply

hey /med/ I'm getting some weird neck muscle pain I haven't really had before. 90% of my range of motion is fine but the last 5% of fully extending my neck anterior/posterior causes tenderness/pain in two muscles at the back of my neck flanking my spine.
Shit's weird, I don't remember doing anything unusual with my neck or holding it in a weird position. I worked out on Monday but it was a completely normal workout with no issues.

Doc said I didn't have a heart attack. They ran tests, no blood clots, aorta looks good, had multiple EKGs, echocardiogram and stress test today. They didn't see anything concerning. I still get a random chest pain (low intensity) every once in a while. What do you think is wrong with me?

Administered levothyroxine for ataxic gait, dysarthria, with negative mri and sufficient b1 and b12. Won't submit to blood test for religious reasons. After 3 days 50mcg levothyroxine, ataxia worsened. How good of an indicator is this that the problem is with the thyroid?

I'm not saying it's the be all and end all of care. It's not a magic bullet just something that helps with recovery, ideally we'll have a drug in the future which works at a lower dosage and more directly.
