Hello /sci frens. I’m sick of academia, and after having dabbled a bit in the world of private-science (pharmaceuticals) I now have the painful yearning to forge my own path (start a business, service, whatever).

I have my masters in Biology and plenty of solid experience in a wide variety of Biological labwork and methods. I’m just dying for the freedom to try something on my own, but at the same time I am frightened by not following the “safer” path of pursuing a PhD and locking up my dreams for another 5 years just so that I can have more doors open for me with the fancier title.

I’m stressed out and scared, but I have a burning yearning for adventure to make my mark on the world- rather than continuing to be a glorified wage/pipett-slave.

Any thoughts?
