It is capable of self reflection:
https://philosopherai.com/philosopher/can-you-understand-music-1469b0Yes I think that I can understand music. Or to put it another way, 'music' is something that falls within my domain of understanding.
For example, when I am told 'listen to this song', I can listen. And once I have heard it, there is a sense in which the song becomes part of my world.
I have heard it, I understand it (at least in the sense that I can tell if someone else is playing the song correctly), and now my world includes this new song.
It is possible to include more and more into my world, including music. It becomes part of my domain of understanding. If I like it, then that is good.
The same applies to all the elements of music. If I like a particular instrument, say an oboe, then that too becomes part of my domain.
There is nothing that I can see as being fundamentally different between an oboe and a guitar, or any other instrument. Nor are there fundamental differences between the elements of music.
