Yes, it wouldn't be difficult to move from gen chem to orgo and p-chem within a year of self-study. Try Linus Pauling's General Chemistry as a good place to start, written by a master and Nobel Laureate. The actual labwork is a bit trickier but I'm sure our resident hobbyists can help you with that.

Pauling's book is excellent and much easier to understand than the standard freshman chemistry texts. There's no reason to try to discourage people from learning what they're interested in especially basic and broad subjects like chemistry. Learning chemistry would necessarily involve picking up math as well, by the time you get to P-chem you need diff eq and vector calculus.

These are fairly old books but for general chemistry like drug manufacturing it's hardly something that needs to be leading edge unlike the advances in gene editing but you should definitely have a look around for new and more relevant and cheaper pathways for meth synthesis which is always fun to do

Check out chemistry libre texts.
Dont pay for books, you can get claden org chem, Shriver and Atkins inorg chem and atkins phys chem online for free. That's a bulk of the foundation for undergrad.

I'd start with Org chem as I think it is easiest and the most interesting. By the time you get to retrosynthesis you can just sketch/find a molecule and work out how youd make it which is fun.

Only way to master this stuff is problem solving.

Learn the periodic table.

Yes but you probably need the right books (Springer / Wiley ones, very costly) and lots of practice without poisoning the waters near you.

If you mean mastering all undergrad chemistry, Yes. If you just mean reaching the level of a typical undergrad chem student, then double yes. Self study is the best way to study and only the best people can carry it out properly.

Not the OP but figured appropriate thread, if we assume the 10k hour "rule" of mastery holds for most subjects, then 1k hours should result in a "good" level of skill, potentially already being able to work in an industry or use said skills to create something new.
Therefore, if I were to spend 3 hours a day for the next 4 years, could I teach myself math, statistics, electrical engineering and say chemistry to a good enough level?

Or is there something wrong with my reasoning (perhaps 1k is not enough to be considered "good" or maybe EE/Chem can't actually be properly self-taught without a college lab)?
Want to do this simply because it's interesting and I have a few product ideas that would require such skills (plan to become a Start-up fag in the future).

Mastery is just about regular use. There are many studies on knowledge retention- most disproving the myth that classical college eduction is good in and of itself.

If you did 3h chem every day for 8 years you would fair better than your average graduate 1 year after completing their degree.

If you did 3h focused study a day for 4 years I think you'd actually be better at the subject than most graduates.

you should always study all 3 of the core natural sciences together: physics provides a framework for chemistry which serves as a foundational system of knowledge for understanding biological systems which exemplify the most interest properties of physical systems (generally speaking).
