The Earth is flat, finite and limitless (think of it as a spherical object) and everything revolves around it in an elaborate way.
The firmanent is the observable universe. The reason we can't go beyond it is because space gets infinitely dense for physical matter starting with what we call the stratosphere. We don't see this because as material beings who live in material space, we and our technology condense and curve along with it, but what we call "space" is actually an infinitely dense, thin layer through which spiritual matter can pass because spiritual space stops coinciding with the material space above the average cloud heigth.
Below us space gets infinitely dense inside what we call the mantle which is functionally the same as the firmanent except instead of "space" it just contains lava beyond which lies the underworld where the Earth looks like a red star.
