>>12030927It's all connected. Biology and ritual are at the root of all else. If you cannot even secure the health of a population, why even bother? The only alternative is to embrace it. Brave New World-like stratification, control via dependence and other maladies which render people sick and weak. Like type 1 diabetes for instance, one can consider this a hard dependence. No help from the broader society, no existence. You need permission to exist, not unlike the old eugenicist notion of coming before a death board every so many years and making your case reagrding your perceived raison d'etre and whether taking up space and resources is justified. This is a sort of utopia idealism, with a dark edge of course, but it has been discussed in the past.
Basically, summarized into concise terms, it disgusts me. I am disgusted by it. I always have felt bewildered and eventually, disgusted by it. At the very least we can reframe the dialogue into proper terms, like the above. Where are we, where are we going. Who are we, what are we doing. What are we, what can we do.
