bump. This is a big deal even if it seems like a memey popsci subject. Unfortunately... we live in the era where all the popsci subjects have actually reached the stage of sophistication where they're becoming disruptive finally. IIRC a few years ago Japanese began legislating to control lolicon sexbots. I can't find the article, but there's something analogous in the US:
>The Curbing Realistic Exploitative Electronic Pedophilic Robots (CREEPER) Act, sponsored by Daniel M. Donovan, Jr., was passed by the U.S. House of Representatives on 13 June 2018. The bill would amend the federal obscenity statute, 18 U.S.C. § 1462 to criminalize importation and transportation for interstate commerce any "anatomically-correct doll, mannequin, or robot, with the features of, or with features that resemble those of, a minor, intended for use in sexual acts."https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sex_robotBut seeing the success of AI Dungeon, I'm beginning to wonder if waifu-tech will skip the robotic phase and just become virtual. After all, the biggest problem with sexbots is that they're too bulky and indiscreet, whereas virtual AI characters can manifest themselves in degrees (sexbots being the extreme of physicality).
